The Vine Notebook does not collect your data. Any of it. Ever.
There is no account, no sign-up, no email address, no password, and no server that belongs to us. What you write stays on your phone.
Your notes, your prayers, the photographs of your pages, your name if you choose to give one, and every setting. All of it is stored in the app's own storage on your device and in the app's folder, which you can see yourself in the Files app.
When you photograph a page, the handwriting is read by your iPhone itself, using Apple's on-device text recognition. The photograph is never uploaded. The words it reads are never uploaded. This works with the phone in aeroplane mode, which is the simplest proof of it.
The entire Bible and the topical index ship inside the app. Looking up a passage makes no network request, so nobody — including us — can see what you looked up.
If you have iCloud Backup switched on for your iPhone, your notebook is included in that backup, the same way your other apps are. That backup is between you and Apple; we have no access to it.
If a future version offers sync across your own devices, it will use Apple's CloudKit private database, which stores the data in your personal iCloud account. We would not be able to read it, and we would not want to.
Any purchase is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card, your billing address, or your name. We receive only anonymous sales totals from Apple.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing from anyone of any age.
Delete the app. Everything goes with it, because there is nowhere else it lives. You can also export a full backup first from Settings, and delete individual pages at any time.
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant, it will be said plainly in the app.
